What Combat Upgrade Points Do

The system runs on threes: collect three points and you bank one full energy upgrade, which is usually the difference-maker in a fight that has you stuck. Four energy upgrades in total earn a trophy — listed in Chinese sources as Ling Jie, literally "Spirit Realm" — so the chest route below is worth finishing even if you never feel underpowered.

Location 1: The Resonance Ruins

Your first point needs no detour at all. Once the opening boss fight against the Artist in Downtown ends, return to the exact ruins where the battle took place. A chest among the debris holds a Combat Upgrade Point.
